Prado is a farm-to-table restaurant that offers a contemporary and casual dining experience in the historic Mouraria neighborhood of Lisbon. The restaurant’s name means “meadow” in Portuguese, reflecting its focus on seasonal and local ingredients from organic farms and producers.
Prado’s menu changes frequently, depending on the availability and freshness of the products, and features creative dishes that showcase the flavors and diversity of Portuguese cuisine. Prado’s dishes include cauliflower with whey and brioche, beetroot with sheep’s cheese and seaweed, beef stew with radishes and walnuts, and grilled pork cheek with turnip tops and mustard. Prado also has a wine bar, Mercearia, where guests can enjoy natural wines, artisanal cheeses, and charcuterie.
By chance, I walked by and had a small lunch before heading out to the Belcanto in the evening. It was definitely worth the stop. I highly recommend it, and don’t forget to make a reservation.
