L’ecume is a modern French restaurant located in the heart of Frankfurt’s Nordend district. The name means “foam” and refers to the lightness of the cuisine as well as the famous sparkling wine from the Champagne region, where the chef and owner Alexandre Sadowczyk comes from. Sadowczyk brings his flair and sophisticated flavors from his childhood to the table, creating refined and creative dishes with regional accents and seasonal ingredients.
The menu is small but varied, offering a choice of four, five, or six courses with optional wine pairings. Their main focus is the champagne, and I highly recommend the Champagner pairing.
Some of the signature dishes include foie gras with rhubarb and gingerbread, lobster with asparagus and morels, and lamb with artichokes and black garlic.
The desserts are equally tempting, such as the chocolate mousse with passion fruit and caramel or the cheese platter with homemade jams and bread. One of the must-go is their signature dessert, “Frankfurter 7 Grüne Kräuter”.
The restaurant has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, minimalist decor, and warm lighting. The service is attentive and professional, and the staff can provide expert advice on the wine selection, which features mainly French and German labels.
L’ecume is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, who appreciate the quality and originality of the food and the reasonable prices.
L’ecume is one of the best places to enjoy a fine dining experience in Frankfurt and to discover the modern and elegant side of French cuisine.
