Book Review
Einfach Tanja: Gemüseküche zum Teilen und Geniessen (Simply Tanja: Vegetable Cuisine to Share and Enjoy) is the eighth cookbook by Tanja Grandits, chef of the Stucki restaurant in Basel, Switzerland, and the winner of two Michelin stars and 19 GaultMillau points.
The book contains simple but refined vegetarian and vegan recipes. The book’s structure is aligned with salads, soups, pan and oven dishes, desserts, and great food add-ons that will make cooking exciting. The book is illustrated with beautiful photos by Lukas Lienhard and designed by Sanna Andrée-Müller. All dishes are perfectly captured, and photographs create a desire to cook them immediately. The book is full of joy for eating and warming the heart and soul.
My favorite dishes are:
- Green and red chicory with mozzarella and black sesame
- Fennel cucumber salad with cottage cheese, tahini, and sichuan pepper
- Pumpkin tataki with a miso, mint salsa
- Kohlrabi with miso butter and spinach
- red, yellow, and purple carrots with oranges and sumach
- Poppy seed earl grey cake
Although I am not a vegetarian, I will cook many of these recipes. It’s an excellent book that everybody must have in his kitchen.
